Baby Schedule: 7 months

Since my son will be eight months old in two days, I need to get our seven months old schedule down in writing to help me remember the rapidly developing changes. So, what all have we done this last month….

7am: Wake-up, diaper, nurse

7:30am: Independent play on mat

8:30am: Feed breakfast with cups of formula and water

9am: Get dressed, brush gums, read books, then straight down for nap

9:15am: Morning nap

10:30am: Snack with cup of formula

11am-12:30pmish: Play, go out and about

12:30pm: Lunch with cups of formula and water

1pm: Read books then straight down for afternoon nap

2:30pmish: Snack with cup of formula

2:45pm: Play, go out and about

4:30pmish: Nurse

4:45pmish: Catnap (this didn’t always happen but it needed too!)

5:45pmish: Dinner with cups of formula and water

6pmish: Bath, pajamas, play

7pm: Breast milk bottle

7:15pm: Read nighttime books (I do books after bottle so baby doesn’t associate bottles with going to sleep)

7:30pmish: Lights out, NIGHT NIGHT-MOMMY TIME!!

10pm: Dream feed breast milk bottle- Provide very minimal stimulation, I diaper baby but don’t use wipes unless I have to, give bottle, burp, and put directly back to crib

And…..Repeat!

It may have been easier to write down what Fisher has not done. He’s changing, growing, and learning so fast my head is spinning in amazement. This is a VERY general schedule, no two days are alike, so you must be flexible! Having a basic routine set in which baby knows what is going to happen next will make for a calmer, more confident baby. I cannot stress enough the importance of a consistent routine. When baby knows what is going to happen next, they feel safe and relaxed, just as we do as adults!
