When baby is fussy and you know he’s clean, rested, fed, and isn’t sick, try a change of scenery. After a solid day of rain and baby signaling boredom, we needed to get out of the house and do something different. So, we decided to take little man to the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. What a great experience for a 7 month old! Children learn from experience and this was a wonderful experience, even for little ones. We opted for the baby carrier instead of the stroller, this allowed mommy and daddy to be hands free and baby to be more engaged with the environment. It was a perfect sensory experience and of course mommy had to throw in some baby signs! We worked on the sign for fish. I’m sure some thought I looked silly but who cares, I do it to support language development for my baby! I also added lots of adjectives (big fish, little fish, red fish). Fish is an easy sign. You just move your hand in and out like a swimming fish. Anytime we talk about fish, I demonstrate the sign.
